The Art and Practice of Vaginal Steaming
What is Vaginal Steaming?
Vaginal Steaming is the practice of using hot water infused with fresh and/or dried herbs to steam the vagina and other pelvic floor muscles and organs. As the water breaks open the cellular walls of the plants, their therapeutic and beneficial components are released into to the steam and travel up to this highly vascular region of the body.
This timeless tradition has been used by many cultures all around the world, each placing their own unique imprint on the practice by the native herbs they use, and reasons for steaming.
Steaming can be a valuable, and therapeutic tool for many gynecological concerns, as well as an excellent addition to self care routine.

Find a heat tolerant container (bucket, cooking pot, etc...)

Place 1/2 cup of herbs in container and pour 1 quart of boiling water over herbs and allowing them to steep and the steam to slightly cool. You need to exercise caution with the temperature of the steam, it should be warm and pleasant and in no way burn or cause pain.

Sit directly above the steam for 15-45 minutes. Once you are finished, wrap up and stay warm. Allow yourself to be calm and relaxed for at least another 45 minutes. Discard water and herbs.
